- World Premiere of The Freedom Symphony with the Fairfax
Symphony and Choir Dr. L. Subramaniam was commissioned
to write a new composition for the Fairfax Symphony to
celebrate 60 Years of India's Independence. This concert
featured Dr. L. Subramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam,
Bindu Seetaa Subramaniam, Ambi Subramaniam, and was conducted
by Maestros William Hudson and Glen Qader. The concert
began with a Karnatic violin duet with Dr. L. Subramaniam,
Ambi and their percussionists, Mashesh Krishnamurthy,
Giridhar Udupa, G. Satya Sai and Satish Pathakota.
The Global Symphony featuring Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam
with the orchestra (conducted by Maestro William Hudson)
and the choir was followed by the world premiere of the
Freedom Symphony featuring Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam
and Bindu Seetaa Subramaniam. The finale was the Turbulence
concerto featuring Dr. L.Subramaniam and Ambi Subramaniam
and conducted by Maestro Glen Qader.
- The tremendous ovation they received led to the encore
piece the Flight of the Humble Bee.

- Karnatic Violin duet by Dr. Subramaniam and Ambi at
the Jay Pritzker Pavillion, Millenium Dome, Chicago Dr.
Subramaniam and Ambi played to a rapt audience of over
7,000 at this open air concert as a part of the world
music festival in Chicago. It was the first time that
Indian music was heard at this venue and the audience
was spell bound and gave the performers an overwhelming
standing ovation.
- Dr. Subramaniam and Ambi were accompanied by Mahesh
Krishnamurthy, Giridhar Udupa, G. Satya Sai and Satish
Pathakota.
- 18th : Chicago - Ambi's US
Solo debut
- Ambi Subramaniam played the first half of a concert
at the International House, University of Chicago. This
marked Ambi's solo debut in the United States. His brilliant
playing earned him a standing ovation and great acclaim.
The second half of the concert was performed by Pandit
Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.

- From the Republic to the Raj - Concert at the Royal
Festival Hall, London
Dr. Subramaniam and Ambi played as part of a seven hour
concert celebrating 60 years of India's independence at
the newly renovated Royal Festival Hall. Ambi opened the
concert with a solo segment to much appreciation and applause
and then father and son played a Karnatic violin duet,
receiving a standing ovation. Dr. Subramaniam and Ambi
were accompanied by Mahesh Krishnamurthy, Giridhar Udupa
and G. Satya Sai.

- 60 years of Bollywood - Barbican Theatre, London
Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, A. Hariharan, Alka Yagnik,
Roop Kumar Rathod, Jolly Mukherjee and others presented
film songs representing 60 years of Bollywood to a packed
house at the Barbican Theatre.

Bee .
