Lakshminaryana V.

Prof. V. Lakshminarayana belonged to the guru-shishya parampara (master-disciple tradition) of Sri Baluswamy Dikshithar who is believed to have introduced the violin to Indian music.

It was Prof. V. Lakshminarayana's  dream to make the Indian violin (which was at his time used mostly for accompaniment) as a primary solo instrument on par with the western violin and see it played all over the world in prestigious concert halls.

He has been a torch bearer in introducing fabulous, masterful and original techniques in playing the violin, to have a complete mastery over the instrument while maintaining all the ornamentations which are most essential to Indian Classical Music.

This has been the most important factor that has contributed to bringing the Indian violin to its present stature
